I got some of these 2nd hand. Very nice looking and nice to hold. But as I read the inscription, there are two ways to interpret it and now it is keeping me up at night to figure out which interpretation is meant!!!
“Be the reason the rum is gone”…
Does it mean:
1) Explanatory in a pirate accent: “I traded the rum for silver, and that be the reason the rum is gone…”
2) Inspirational: Challenge yourself to drink up all the rum (or to improve your circumstances by burning it to generate a rescue signal)… “Be the reason the rum is gone!”
Which is it? The ambiguity is killing me!! I must know!

Need to Know –
I got some of these on secondary market, and they have a nice look. I was drinking rum when they got posted for sale and it made me laugh so I bought them. Nice look, nice texture, and came with the leather COA thing.
BUT Now I have a very important question, how to interpret the words “Be the reason the rum is gone”…. which way is it meant?
1) Explanatory: In my best pirate accent “Be the reason the rum is gone” means I traded all the rum for silver?…
OR
2) Inspirational: Challenge yourself to “Be the reason the rum is gone” by drinking up all the rum
This dual meaning is keeping me up at night! The ambiguity is destroying my life! which way is it supposed to be interpreted? I must know!!
